Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2025

1. Acceptance

By creating a Overthink account and using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Overthink provides a daily cognitive training practice including writing prompts, self-assessment tools, Socratic challenge questions, and anonymous peer review. The service is offered "as is" and we make no guarantees about outcomes.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be 16 or older to use Overthink. You may not create accounts for others without their consent.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you write on Overthink. By submitting writing, you grant us a limited license to store it, process it through our LLM pipeline (for Socratic questions and insights), and share it anonymously with your peer review group. We do not claim ownership of your writing and will not use it to train AI models.

5. Peer review conduct

Peer reviews must be substantive and made in good faith. Reviews that are abusive, off-topic, or clearly fraudulent may result in account suspension. The review system is anonymous — attempting to identify or expose other users is prohibited.

6. Prohibited use

You may not:

  • Use AI to write your responses (this defeats the purpose)
  • Automate or script interactions with the service
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service
  • Harass, identify, or attempt to deanonymise other users
  • Submit content that is illegal or violates others' rights

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

8. Disclaimer

Overthink is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for any loss of data, interruptions, or outcomes resulting from your use of the service.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
